Voi is an on-street eBike hire scheme operating in Edinburgh, which launched in August 2025. Bikes are available to hire from various locations around the city. We have several hire points on our Central Area, King's Buildings, and Pollock Halls campuses. There are also bikes located close to Peffermill Playing Fields, Edinburgh College of Art, and New College. We are working with Voi to ensure the bike parking zones are well integrated into the University, and will be looking to expand the scheme's area of operations to other campuses. If you are regularly encountering issues with Voi bikes on our campuses (e.g., not enough bikes to meet demand, bikes being parked poorly), please contact transport@ed.ac.uk and we will liaise with Voi management to try to resolve it.To get started, you need to download the Voi app and create an account.
