Bike theft statistics

For student & staff awareness, a summary report on bike thefts is published quarterly.

The reports below summarise known bike thefts on campus. The intention is to provide staff and students with an insight into the scale of the problem, and factors surrounding recent incidents.

New reports will be published quarterly.

Reporting bike theft

If you ever have a bike stolen, or observe a theft in progress or other suspicious behaviour on campus, please report it to University Security on 0131 650 2257 or security@ed.ac.uk. This will help us to maintain more accurate records, and improve the security of facilities.

You should also report this to Police Scotland on 101.
